The highly coveted Los-Angeles based designer, Tom Ford can always be counted on to create an impeccable mouth-watering display of glamour, excess and sex appeal, his Fall 2018 womenswear collection was no exception.

The designs featured bold hues and larger than life prints that kept the audience excited and wanting to see what would be showcased next. Every piece seemed to engulf the audience in a new era, an era where embellishments and faux fur were a staple in every closet, an era known as the 80s.

Like most of the industry, Ford seemed to have streetwear in mind, offering practical pieces for everyday wear with a touch of daring sex appeal. Leggings were a huge moment on the runway, they came in zebra, leopard, snake prints, sequin, and metallic. Simple crew-neck sweatshirts got an upgrade of shimmer as they glistened under the house lights including, one that read “Tom Ford Beverly Hills” in rhinestones.

Puffer Jackets were conveniently oversized with embellishments including faux fur collars, animal print, mixed-material and/or gemstone accents. Suits are a staple in every Tom Ford collection and once again he did not disappoint. The suits received a retro reinvention with sharp shoulders and duo front gathered silk pieces that brought together the look with a relaxed undertone.

Additionally, neon hues played a big role in the collection, starring patchwork dresses that were layered with risky leopard tights.

Ford, took the NYFW runway as an avenue to share his thoughts on the Times Up and #MeToo movements, creating accessory pieces with the words “P**** Power” spelled out in rhinestones including a pair of low heels and two small handbags.

Leave it up to Tom Ford to create a conversational assembly of designs that bring the modern woman a touch of what it was like to be daring with impeccable style in the 80s.
