Fashion runs in the Hilfiger family as Tommy’s daughter, Elizabeth Hilfiger, introduces her own vision and passion for the fashion industry. Elizabeth will be unveiling her fall 2018 collection for her own line, Foo and Foo, at a pop-up shop.

Using a distinctive reference, Elizabeth found inspiration in her knowledge of math and science. Foo and foo’s collection consists streetwear that differentiates entirely from Tommy’s traditional preppy tones. The line includes graphic designs inspired by mathematician, Issac Newton, by incorporating formulas that Elizabeth found fascinating. According to Vogue, Hilfiger enlisted a friend from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to assist in drawing the diagrams.

The line was previewed and photographed in a gymnasium of the Lower East Side Manny Cantor community wellness center. Elizabeth transformed the shoot into a classroom, with models sporting Foo and Foo and posed as distracted students in a classroom.

Although having her father as an admiration, Elizabeth’s creations seem that she’s chosen a different route down the fashion design path. Elizabeth’s line consists of grunge and edgy pieces, including jeans, trousers, and windbreakers. The line also distinguishes itself with a jersey stripe splayed with ‘Foo and Foo’ repetitively down the jeans.

The pop-up shop will take place in downtown New York at 164 Orchard Street from Friday to Sunday. The young designer will use a see-now buy-now method that Tommy has been using for quite some time. Fans and shoppers will have the chance to try on Foo and Foo clothes as well. Elizabeth shows that it’s easy to find inspiration in designing while having a father as a fashion designer; however, expressing individuality through designs is an entirely different story that she tells well.
