WATCH: Rhye’s bittersweet new music video

“Song For You”

Rhye leads viewers through a heartbreaking tale of love and letting go.

As love lingers in the air across the world today, Rhye drops a bombshell just in time for Valentine’s Day with the release of their latest music video for the track, “Song For You,” off their critically acclaimed new album Blood. The presentation starts off full of pure bliss but ends in erupt misery. Needless to say, it captures the ruthless reality that many couples endure at some point or another.

The alternative R&B project created by Canadian-singer Michael Milosh is consistent when it comes to producing songs that oscillate various emotions to listeners. The emotional buildup that Rhye attains is crafted beautifully, but it’s also guaranteed to make you shed some tears at the same time.

The scenes projected in “Song For You” was directed and produced by Milosh himself alongside his girlfriend Geneviève Medow-Jenkins, the visually stunning clip stars Nathalie Kelley and Christopher Brochu. The video sculpts Kelley and Brochu as the perfect couple riding through life together, but it quickly becomes misleading as they argue in distress.

“The video for ‘Song for You’ explores the moments of our lives, the cycles we all experience,” shared Milosh. “We hope these moments resonate with you, both the joy and the pain, in the same way they did with us while making this piece.”

Described as bittersweet, mellow, and tender the song can almost hypnotize you. Despite the heart aching ending which pans over Kelley in a pool of tears abandoned by her lover, it paints the bigger picture that nothing lasts forever. The original idea behind the track was to show that everyone can use more love, a simple way of showing that somebody out there cares even if it doesn’t seem likely. Rhye even puts together Valentine’s Day Cards which allows fans to send “Song For You,” along with a personal well thought out love note which you can find here.

Their LP Blood is currently available both digitally and physically via Loma Vista Recordings. In addition to that Rhye will also journey on a world tour across North America and Europe going into spring. Tickets are available here. The full list of tour dates can be viewed below.
