Sade is stirring up an original song for Disney film ‘A Wrinkle in Time’

A major comeback

Surfacing back into the spotlight after a nearly eight-year wait…

It’s been a long-awaited span of time since anybody heard from London-based band Sade, but 2018 continuously seems to bring back old favorites out of the blue. The iconic soul singer Sade Adu is no exception, confirming that she will be partaking in creating a new original tune for the upcoming film adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time after sealing a deal with Director Ava DuVernay.

The leading lady along with her eponymous crew last released their studio album Soldier of Love in 2010 so the news has many people jaw dropped. Disney’s adaptation of the movie is based on Madeleine L’ Engle’s original sci-fi novel, which is a popular story from 1962. The tale leads readers through an adventure jam-packed with action, so the premiere is expected to thrive among the new generation with a full viewing audience.

The cast is made up of many familiar stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Zack Galifianakis, and countless more. It’s a no-brainer that any film noteworthy enough to hook up Winfrey with a leading role is delivering top-notch quality to ensure a five-star rating.

Keeping this in mind, Sade is busy contributing to her part by recording “Flowers of the Universe,” her song specially made just for the movie. DuVernay was ecstatic when the two linked up to create fresh never before released music for the soundtrack.

I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget . . . DuVernay tweeted.

In addition, the film will also include six other original tracks by DJ Khaled, Demi Lovato, Sia, Kehlani, Beyoncé, Chloe x Halle, and a score by Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi. The film premieres nationwide on March 9, and it’s one not to miss.
