DJ Khaled is gunning for track of the year.
In what is likely going to be the hottest song across the country by the weekend, DJ Khaled has enlisted help from his extensive rolodex on his new track “Top Off.” The track features Jay-Z, Beyonce and Future.
The funhouse keyboard at the beginning leads into Future rapping about taking the top of the Maybach off before the beat drops. Then Jay-Z launches into seeing the cops in the rearview and running away from them. Then he references freeing rapper Meek Mill who has been in jail since November in a contentious case involving alleged probation violations, Billboard reports.
And then it’s on to the finer things. Champagne, Patek Philippe watches, his recent $91,000 drink bill at a club and cruising around listening to Prince with his daughter Blue Ivy.
Then it’s time for Beyonce to shake up the boys club, throw in a shout out to Meek Mill and she is not afraid to let everyone know that she’s still the best.
I’m the only lady here, still the realest n—a in the room
I break the internet, top two and I ain’t number two
My body, my ice, my cash, all real, I’m a triple threat
Fuck it up and then leave, come back, fuck it up and leave again
Top off the coupe and it look like Freaknik
In the hood, hollerin’, “Free Meek”
Two deep, it’s just me and JAY
Just posted in them courtside seats
Woo! I’m like “hol’ up”
Woo! I might roll up
If they’re tryna party with the queen
They gon’ have to sign a non-disclosure
The track, which already has the Internet in a tizzy, will be featured on Khaled’s upcoming 11th studio album Father of Asahd. No release date has been announced, but it can be expected in 2018.
Keep up with music at Salute.
