New Orleans Pelicans Anthony Davis came through big on his 25th birthday.
Arguably one of the most slept on players in the league, Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans played hard on Sunday night against the Utah Jazz. The now 25-year-old power forward came through with a career-best of a 10-block triple-double!
Davis is one of the best players the Pelicans has and not only that, he is a star in the city as well, often hosting many charitable events and contributing to the youth and communities around the city. Although his best wasn’t enough to win the game last night against the Utah Jazz, the Pelicans lost 99-119, Davis played hard earning the career high which hasn’t been done since Hassan Whiteside in 2016. He didn’t get a W for his birthday, but it is safe to say he did his best last night.
As we move closer to the NBA Finals, it is pretty clear that the Pelicans are nowhere near where they need to be to place at this point. But, looking towards next few seasons, if he continues to play at this level, he may find himself in an elite class in 2020 when his contract ends with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Currently, Davis is one of the highest paid in the league with a $127,171,313.00 contract, as his career flourishes, how much will that insane number gain numbers? If the Pelicans can gain more players like Davis, they would have a definite run for the championship over the course of the next several years.
The Pelicans face off against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, March 13 at 8 PM ET at the New Orleans Smoothie King Center.
