P. Diddy links up with Jay-Z on new app to support ‘Black Excellence’

Making a difference through technology.

Diddy and Jay-Z finally dish out the details on their latest project…

Rap veterans Sean “P.Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z have been hush-hush about giving specifics after revealing they were collaborating on a secret project, quite recently however the pair spilled the beans on what the ‘big’ reveal was all about.

In his latest cover story with GQ, Diddy who now goes by Love informs the public that they are linking up to help Black people across the states.

Their solution to doing so is by creating a new app in the works, designed to make finding black-owned businesses more simple to others.

The idea rises from the long-lived fact that Black people are able to validate themselves by uniting their combined wealth, and with that thought alone will eventually empower each-other as a community.

Though, the app is still nameless for the time being, and the success of it isn’t certain for the moment, Diddy specifies that the development of the app is not meant to drive bigger named businesses to crash and burn but to some extent help black businesses flourish instead.

Diddy explains:

“This is not about taking away from any other community. We’ll still go to Chinatown. We’ll still buy Gucci!

But the application will make it possible for us to have an economic community. It’s about blacks gaining economic power.”

With the goal of boosting Diddy’s short film ‘Black Excellence’ the rap moguls are working hard to give back to the community in any way they can.

Diddy adds:

“At some point there has to be some kind of fight. I feel like we’ve done a lot of marching. It’s time to start charging. We’re into psychological warfare. The difference is, we’re not trying to hurt nobody.”

The news of this latest project comes days after Jay-Z revealed that he will be hitting the road again alongside Beyoncé for a world tour to celebrate the release of 4:44.

The latest details surrounding the tour can be found here.

The 48-year-old also has fans speculating a future collaboration with Canadian bred rapper Belly after the two shared a picture on Instagram in what appears to be a recording studio, so it seems Jay-Z has a lot on his agenda for this year already.

No further updates on the app have been made at the moment, but more details are expected to surface sooner than later.

Keep up with music at Salute.
