Slash is getting ready to serve up another helping of the kind of rock n’ roll that he plays best
After having been part of one of the most successful tours of all time with the reunion of Guns N’ Roses, lead guitarist Slash is using his down time to get his solo band back together to write and record a brand new solo album.
Since 2010, Slash has been jamming it up with Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy and the band they call The Conspirators which was originally put together to tour for his 2010 solo release Slash.
The band has put out two albums together: 2012’s Apocalyptic Love and 2015’s World on Fire.
In a recent interview, Slash explains:
“I’m excited about the new stuff we put together for this next record; it’s got some cool songs and it’s got a great live feel. I’ve been working with Myles, Brent and Todd for about eight years now.
It’s been an amazing ride so far; as a band we continue to get better which is great. With the addition of Frank since the ‘World on Fire’ tour, I feel we have hit a great, creative stride which I definitely think shows on this next record.”
Guns N’ Roses will still be plenty busy throughout the summer, however. While the main bulk of the touring they have been doing over the past couple of years has come to a close, they are set to headline multiple festivals in Europe.
At press time there is no word on whether or not Guns N’ Roses is working on any new material together in the studio for a new release.
At press time the new solo album from Slash is currently untitled, but is expected to be out this autumn.
Keep up with music at Salute.
