The Weeknd is stirring up a new project in the studio…
After being caught walking slowly down the streets of Taft, CA by a camera crew, and even floating over a hoverboard, paparazzi speculated that R&B Canadian singer/songwriter The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye has been exposed in the middle of preparing for a fresh-not yet premiered music video, which could only mean one thing: a new album in the works hinted to drop sometime soon.
However, now The Weeknd has made things a lot more obvious, by dropping six snippets of himself in the recording studio in three separate posts via Instagram where he appears to be forming together new tracks by getting lost in thought and singing,.
However, the sound is mute so there’s still some ‘secretive’ details yet to be unveiled. The singer captions all three with the word ‘mastering,’ perhaps hinting that the upcoming album is in the finishing stages before the debut release.
Leading up to the clips, the Canadian crooner has also posted a couple of pictures captioned “Mixing,” “Taking a break,” and “I Feel It Coming,”.
Although the public has no idea what to expect, Houston rapper Travis Scott has already spilled the beans earlier this month, in a rush of excitement tweeting:
“Abel new album is scray. It’s like when I first heard him for the first time. Fuckkkkkk!!!!!
After breaking out into the music industry with his 2015 chart-topping album Beauty Behind the Madness, the singer’s 2016 record Starboy took home the title for best urban contemporary album on Grammy’s night this year.
This makes The Weeknd the only artist to ever win in this category twice.
This upcoming album is a fellow-up to Starboy and is expected to launch sometime in the next couple of weeks, as of press time there is no set date as of yet.
Keep up with music at Salute.
