Zayn Malik is feeling the pangs of young love.
Just last month, Salute reported that singer Zayn Malik had teased fans with potential new music via Instagram with a string of cryptic posts. The posts contained an image of piano keys as the singer crooned in the background.
These posts had fans believing that the singer was close to announcing the follow-up release to his debut album Mind of Mine from 2016.
Now, however, it seems that due to the latest personal change in Malik’s life has lead him to reconsider almost the entire second album.
According to The Sun, after his recent split from supermodel Gigi Hadid, Malik is looking to scrap almost the entirely album as the songs were predominantly about how head over heels in love the singer was with the supermodel.
A source claims,
“There’s lots of songs about their love, passion and sensuality. But some of the songs are more painful to him than loving now.”
Instead of keeping the songs, he intends to rewrite the album and focus the songs instead on their split.
Though the split was apparently both mutual and amicable, Malik is said to be heartbroken over it and wants to use the heartbreak as inspiration.
He tweeted about the breakup earlier this month.

It’s being said that the breakup occurred due to both of their hectic schedules making it difficult to maintain the relationship.
The news of the possible delay will come as a shock to fans as the “Pillow Talk” singer tweeted out earlier this month that the album was done, but he was working on videos for it now, according to popcrush.com.
However, this is merely speculation as there has been no confirmation from either Zayn Malik or his camp.
Keep up with music at Salute.
