Spanish electronic DJ/producer Gavin Moss recently linked up with Philadelphia R&B/Soul musician Son Little on the official remix of his latest single, “Oh Me Oh My” from his 2017 album, New Magic.
The 23-year-old producer from Barcelona gives the track a more radio-friendly pop sound that is vaguely reminiscent of the 2013 hit single, “Hey Brother,” by Avicii. The remix is much more anthemic than original, which blended the strum of his acoustic guitar with a more nostalgic ‘60s doo-wop vibe.
Son Little has grown a great deal since his musical career began, honing his craft to tap into a different, more individualized sound. The new remix, however, is still far from being the talented young artist’s most noteworthy collaboration to date.
Before signing a deal with Anti- Records, he performed with DJ/producer RJD2 on his 2011 collaboration album, The Abandoned Lullaby, under the moniker “Icebird.” And, more recently, he made a special guest appearance on the opening track to the 2017 Grammy Award-winning album, Woodstock, by Portugal. The Man. He has also performed with a number of other big names, such as Mavis Staples, The Roots, and Daniel Scholz.
His third studio album, New Magic, was released by Anti- Records in late September and is arguably the Philadelphia songwriter’s best work to date.
Son Little is presently on tour across the country and plans on making several stops throughout the summer, including scheduled performances at the Hangout Music Festival, Sasquatch Festival, Mountain Jam, and Floydfest. For tickets and full tour dates see below or click here for more details.
