Teasing a look into a secret project with a peculiar punk aesthetic…
For Green Day front-man Billie Joe Armstrong, diving into side projects with others doesn’t hit fans by surprise as he has done it many times before with other infamous bands such as Pinhead Gunpowder, Foxboro Hot Tubs, and The Network.
Now, the punk rocker is jumping on-board on yet another venture in which he refers to it as ‘The Long Shot.’
The announcement comes from a series of video’s that Armstrong posted via Instagram filled with tenuous hints, that nobody can seem to quite figure out.
All six clues point towards an old school punk aesthetic which features scribbled out faces with the newly-released ‘The Long Shot,’ logo plastered across them, a black and white doodle of what appears to be Armstrong and his fellow Green Day band mates, a rat, and another hand-written jot of the notorious logo promoting whatever this could mean.
Some of the posts even draw people to a blank canvas account dedicated to the new ‘Long Shot,’ project in the making, sparking even more speculation and confusion towards fans. The only detail posted in the bio reads:
“New album “Love is for Losers” coming eventually sooner or later. Probably sooner.”
Though nobody can uncover this mystery, it’s safe to say this is Armstrong’s way of spicing up his content to dedicated die-hards, as he takes a breather from Green Day.
The latest undertaking is also one of the first outside of Green Day since his collaboration with Norah Jones, with their 2013 album Foreverly.
As for Green Day, they are on hiatus for the time being to regain their focus on a movie adoption based on their iconic 2004 album American Idiot, which will premiere on HBO, as of press time there is no set date for it or the project.
