Corey Taylor lets slip some news on the upcoming Slipknot record
Despite the fact that Stone Sour are about to embark on an ambitious and long tour for the year, that does not mean that singer Corey Taylor has forgotten about his flag ship band Slipknot.
In fact, Taylor recently sat down for an interview with Billboard, where he offered the press and maggots alike some much welcomed and appreciated details for the writing and recording of the band’s next full length album. Taylor says:
“The guys are writing tons of music and I’ve written lyrics to almost all of it. We’re going to start trying to put together demos here and there with the time off that I have and really try to get ahead of the curve as far as what happens next.
I know that we’re gonna try and put an album out next year — however, that is all speculation. The best way to make God laugh is to announce your plans out loud.
So I’m just going with the flow. The plan right now is next year but that is a huge plan because we still haven’t narrowed anything down, so we will definitely see what happens.”
So far Slipknot has been saying that the new album will “absolutely” arrive in 2019, though no further specific time frame for the release has been offered to the general public at press time.
Shawn “Clown” Crahan recently said that the band was planning on hitting the studio in November to start recording the new album, also saying “there is a plethora of shit written”.
Stone Sour will be starting their tour on April 28 in Jacksonville, FL. All dates as well as tickets to the upcoming tour can be found and purchased here.
Keep up with music at Salute.
