J. Cole announces new album on the way to drop Friday

A special treat to fans.

J. Cole confirms his newest album will drop in three days tops…

After sporadically planning a free of cost, first-come and first-serve impromptu listening session on Monday at New York’s Gramercy Theatre for his brewing new album, J. Cole is pulling the same stunt tonight in London, taking aback fans tuning in by announcing that the set release date will be this Friday, April 20th.

In the same manner as his first show, the hip-hop mogul will play 12 songs off the forthcoming album which is designated as “KOD,” which is contemplated to stand for “Kidz on Drugs,” “King Overdose” and “Kill Our Demonz.”

According to music writer Brian Miller, One of the more standout tracks titled “1985,” closed out the show as well as ignited it all in one sitting.

In a brief written tweet Cole confirms his fifth studio LP to drop with three days to spare:

This newest project which finished in just two weeks will also be a follow-up to 4 Your Eyez Only, which dropped back in 2016.

Despite not knowing much else revolving around the album as of press time, fans know more or less what’s expected.

Though no other stars are featured on the record, there’s really no telling if Cole will dish out another last-minute surprise tonight.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates via J. Cole’s social media platform for upcoming details on tonight’s listening session in London.

Keep up with music at Salute.
