Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom has unveiled its final terrifying new trailer.
The follow-up to 2015’s Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom, sets the stage for an all-new adventure in which a group of humans finds themselves running from dinosaurs…again! The sequel is directed by J.A. Bayona. Bayona has directed such spectacle films as The Impossible and most recently A Monster Calls. The film is written by Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.
Returning to the cast is Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, and BD Wong. They are joined by new cast members James Cromwell, Toby Jones, Justice Smith and Jurassic Park Veteran, Jeff Goldblum, who will be reprising his role as Ian Malcolm. Malcolm was last seen in Jurassic Park: The Lost World.
Here is the synopsis for Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom:
When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.
The trailer begins with Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen (Chris Pratt) trying to move silently around a tranquilized Tyrannosaurus Rex. Of course, once the dinosaur locks eyes with Owen, he has to do a daring leap to escape its clutches. The classic Jurassic Park theme is heard as a scene showing a violent eruption occurs on the island that once was the now-defunct Jurassic World.
A voiceover asks, “How many species can we save?” Another voiceover declares eleven can be saved. It is revealed Blue, the raptor that Owen raised and trained, is the last of her kind. This sets Claire on a mission to enlist Owen to help her save Blue.
When the two and a rescue team return to an overrun and decrypted Jurassic World. They soon discover they are way over their heads. The agency that had sent them to rescue the dinosaurs have a shady ulterior motive. To sell the dinosaurs on the black market to the highest bidder.
It is revealed Blue’s DNA is needed to create a new and more lethal Raptor. One, unlike the world, has ever seen. An array of action scenes are shown as Owen, Claire, and Blue, fight off the new dinosaurs that inevitably breaks loose. A voiceover by Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm critically declares “These creatures were here before us, and if we are not careful, they are going to be here after. Welcome to Jurassic World.”
The trailer ends with the gruesome new raptor opening a window and stalking a shivering child in her bed.
Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom arrives in theaters June 22, 2018.
