Ikea x Off-White to unveil collaboration via live stream

Introducing home decor for millennials

 Get ready for new home decor and room makeovers, Ikea and Off-White have finally revealed a peek of their homeware collaboration. The Swedish retailer and newly titled creative director of Louis Vuitton for menswear, have partnered for one to bring Instagram worthy aesthetics to one’s home, specifically for generation Y.     



The duo will showcase the homeware line and the processes behind the collaboration via live broadcast. After their announcement of the collaboration last summer, the much-anticipated collaboration has raised many expectations. Abloh’s marathon of back-to-back collaboration. Last October, the designer gave a sneak peek on Instagram of an eye-catching rug and his version of the Frakta bag, Ikea’s iconic shopping bag. The rug consisted of a blue paisley pattern, with “Keep Off” splayed over it. Abloh’s Frakta bag was debuted in a beige color with “Sculpture,” possibly being the first designer shopping bag. Another debut featured a bright red rug, with “Blue” splayed in the Helvetica font we’ve all come to love. 

As a designer with many collaborations on his agenda, Abloh has proven his designing skills through many avenues. With his background in architecture from Illinois and after studying civil engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Abloh’s vision did not stray from his aesthetics. Considering millennials, Abloh homeware designs were made for those remodeling their dorms or moving into their first home. It’s proven no matter the project, Abloh remains faithful to his artistic vision. 

The live broadcast will air on Ikea Today on Apr. 30 at 5:30 p.m. EST to show exclusive behind the scenes of the collaboration.
