Column: The best lip balms for your chapped lips

Inside Caroline’s Closet

Inside Caroline’s Closet is Salute Magazine’s weekly column written by Fashion Editor and Blogger Caroline Noce. Inside Caroline’s Closet will provide weekly tips and trend alerts within the world of fashion and beauty, aiming to inspire women to look and feel their best.

My name is Caroline and I’m addicted to lip balm. There, I said it.

I love the feeling of hydrated, moisturized lips and chapstick or lip balm is the last thing I apply before bed and the first thing I reach for each morning. Having tried and tested a wide array of balms, glosses, and masks, I’ve learned how to weed out the “must-haves” from the “could do withouts.”

If you’re a lip balm fanatic or are just looking for a way to cure your chapped lips, here are the lip products you have to try:

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

I apply this lip mask every night before bed and it keeps my lips hydrated while I’m sleeping. You apply the thick fruit flavored mask with a tiny spatula and let it work its magic overnight.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

This is my absolute favorite. I carry this around with me at all times. Bite’s agave lip mask is thick and hydrating so it will last for hours and make your lips feel supple and plump. I really can’t recommend this product enough. You can use it throughout the day as well as overnight for maximum results.

Lanolips Multipurpose Superbalm

If you’re looking for a moisturizing lip balm without any flavor or scent, this is a great option for you. It’s gentle yet effective and works as a beautiful, creamy base for your lips. The best part is the superbalm can be applied to areas other than your lips such as “super dry skin patches, cuticles, and dry nasal passages.”

Eos Lip Balm in Sweet Mint

Once you get used to the less than convenient shape of this chapstick, the product actually works really well. Eos’ Sweet Mint chapstick gives your lips a light, cooling tingle for an extra feeling of freshness and hydration.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

This is a classic and for very good reasons. The cocoa butter absorbs into your lips, getting rid of dryness and dead skin.
