Lauryn Hill is repaying in kindness by remixing Drake’s track “Nice For What” at New York Concert
In the middle of performing 1998 chart-topping track “Ex-Factor,” at New York City’s historic Apollo Theater on Tuesday night (May 1), neo-soul singer Lauryn Hill ceased her performance abruptly to interlope the beat of Drake’s “Nice For What,” turning the song into a remix of her very own.
Of course this shouldn’t come as a surprise to say the least, as Drizzy previously pulled the same stunt featuring a sampling cut of “Ex-Factor,” over “Nice For What,” just last month. So as a way of returning the favor, Hill took to the stage in similar manner to express her gratitude back at him.
Just before cranking up the volume to “Nice For What,” Hill opens up her verses saying:
“See this is ‘Ex-Factor’/He took the sample/My shit is classic/Here’s an example,” she sings spitting down swift bars.
In other news, the iconic diva will embark on a North American tour this summer in celebration of the 20th anniversary of her debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
