Phil Collins announces first North American tour in 12 years

A big tour is coming in the air.

Phil Collins is breaking his silence on North America with first tour there in 12 years

Over the past couple of years, former Genesis drummer and front man Phil Collins has been on a rather extensive comeback campaign with a slew of reissues, a memoir titled Not Dead Yet, and some small sporadic returns to the stage.

Now however the singer of classics like “In the Air Tonight” and “Easy Lover” to the excitement of many is ready to take the next step in this comeback, which is a 15 date tour through North America that will be called the “Not Dead Yet Tour”.

The “Not Dead Yet Tour” festivities will kick off Oct 15 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and carry on for 13 more dates until the final one in Los Angeles, CA on Oct 28.

Collins’s band on this upcoming expedition will be guitarist Daryl Stuermer, keyboardist Brad Cole, bassist Leland Sklar, percussionist Luis Conte, as well as Collins’ 16-year-old son Nicolas on drums along with a horn section and some backup singers.

Collins himself will not be playing the drums on this tour, as he is unfortunately currently physically incapable of doing so due to after a back injury he sustained.

In 2009 Collins had an operation to repair dislocated vertebrae in his neck had left him unable to hold drumsticks properly or play the piano.

Tickets to the upcoming tour will go on sale to the general public May 15. They will be able to be found as well as purchased here.

Fans can also register themselves now through Friday at 12 PM local time for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan on sale scheduled for May 14.
