Red carpet swag

Nicki Minaj knows how to make an impact.

Looking stunning in a dramatic red gown, Nicki Minaj chose the Met Gala red carpet to announce not only her latest album’s name, but also the release date.

Nicki took the opportunity in her regal down with a flowing train designed by Oscar de la Renta, to drop the news that she would be releasing her fourth album on June 15th.

The album, XXL Mag reports, will be entitled Queen, a title befitting of the rap powerhouse.

Minaj has already given fans a peek inside of her latest album when she dropped her singles “Chun Li” and “Barbie Tingz” midway through April.

The two songs differ greatly from each other and reminds fans that Nicki Minaj has a versatile style that can deliver no matter what.

Leaning on the sinners side of the Gala’s theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” Minaj strutted in the resplendent gown while telling reporters,

“This is a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming on June 15 and it’s called Queen. And I can’t wait.”

Despite announcing the album, she remained mum on the details of the album. Fans will have to speculate which artists will feature on Queen while impatiently awaiting its release.

But the album announcement wasn’t the only Nicki news from the museum and fashion’s biggest night.

After weeks of rumors flying around about a rift between Nicki Minaj and rap’s current obsession Cardi B, the two were seen sharing a moment together while chatting with Moschino designer Jeremy Scott.

The two seem intent on squashing any further rumors that the two rap queens have any beef with one another.

Fans will have to wait for more details as they emerge for Nicki Minaj’s fourth album Queen.

Keep up with music at Salute.
