Emporio Armani skips out on Milan Men’s Fashion Week

A coed show instead

The luxury Italian label Emporio Armani adds itself to the lineup of brands that will not be showcasing during Milan Men’s Fashion Week. The brand has decided to host a coed lineup in September during the city’s Women’s Fashion Week instead.

According to WWD, the announcement was made by Carlo Capasa the president of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, during a press conference when Capasa unveiled the lineup of designers due to showcase their latest designs during Milan Men’s Fashion Week. This does come as a surprise to many as the iconic show is quite popular during the city’s men’s fashion week.

In addition, the coed show will not take place at the Giorgio Armani theater, the new location has yet to be disclosed. With that being said, the Giorgio Armani men’s collection will take place on June 18th at the theater.

While Bottega Veneta and Gucci have also opted out of Milan Men’s Fashion Week the schedule has not been reduced. In fact, a few new brands have been added, including Triple RRR, the assortment created by Roberto Cavalli’s son Robert, Vien, Korean powerhouse Spyder, French label Ih Nom Uh Nit and Italian fashion house Doucal’s.

Men’s Fashion Week will take place during June 15th-18th and is due to feature a few labels presenting women’s collections for resort 2019 and Spring 2019.
