A$AP Rocky hints at possible release date for ‘Testing’

Testing, testing, 1-2-3

A$AP Rocky is back with his latest album.

Just a day after announcing on Sunday night that his latest album Testing was completed, A$AP Rocky may have revealed that the album is coming sooner than fans think.

In an Instagram post on Monday, May 21st, the rapper posted a fuzzy photo with the caption “525.”

The two people in the photo are also displaying the numbers “525.” This has lead many fans to believe that A$AP will be releasing his latest album on Friday, May 25.

As XXL Mag points out, Fridays are generally the day when albums are released, so the “525” would coincide with release schedules.

Testing, which is named for the rapper “testing out new sounds,” is currently shrouded in mystery.

The track list has yet to be revealed and it has not been announced whether or not his previously released tracks, “Five Stars,” “Above,” and “Money Bags Freestyle (Dean Blunt Meditation),” will be featured on Testing.

However, he has let slip that Kid Cudi, Moby and Skepta will feature on the album.

ASAP tells GQ of the new sound,

“People are scared to test new sounds, so they go with what’s current ’cause it’s the easy thing to do. The top 100 songs sound a certain way. I prefer to experiment and have my crowd grow with me and to reach new crowds. I don’t just rap—I actually make music.”

A$AP recently premiered two new tracks, presumably from Testing, “ASAP Forever” and “Distorted Records” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He also released a trippy, drug-infused video for his song “Herojuana Blunts.”

Keep up with music at Salute.
