Harry Styles is adding producer to his resume.
British pop sensation Harry Styles has had quite a career. From getting his start in boy band phenomenon One Direction to launching both his solo career and acting career simultaneously in 2017 and becoming a fashion trendsetter, Styles has kept himself busy over the last several years. And his life is only about to get busier.
It was recently announced that Harry Styles will be taking his talents back to Hollywood. Only this time, he’ll be behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera.
According to Vogue, the multi-hyphenate will produce the CBS sitcom Happy Together staring Damon Wayans Jr, Amber Stevens West and Felix Mallard. T
he show will follow Wayans and Stevens West, a married couple, who “are forced to unexpectedly welcome Felix, a pop star into their home.”
This mirrors Harry’s experience as he was forced to crash on the couch of filmmaker and producer Ben Winston when One Direction first formed.
While the show is based on Styles’ experience, it will be a loose interpretation and will not follow the story of One Direction or their rise to superstardom; rather, it will have elements of that experience.
Felix Mallard said of the addition of Styles behind the scenes,
“I got to chat with him when were first deciding to do the show and he’s really excited. He’s really keen. He knows that it’s a story based on his life, and he gets to produce a TV show which is fantastic for his career. So I think he really, really does care.”
In addition to playing the role of executive producer, Harry Styles is currently traversing the globe on his arena tour in support of his 2017 self-titled debut album as a solo artist.
The North American leg of the tour begins June 5th in Dallas, TX with support from Kacey Musgraves. More information on his tour can be found here.
Happy Together premieres on CBS this fall.
