Christine Michael signed with the Indianapolis Colts on June 1, but he will not be around for a single snap in 2017. The former Seahawks and Packers running back suffered an undisclosed injury at minicamp.
The #Colts placed RB Christine Michael, who they just signed, on season-ending Injured Reserve & signed RB Troymaine Pope.

Heading into minicamp, the Colts were expecting Michael to help ease the load off of Frank Gore. But they now find themselves in a precarious position on the depth chart behind Gore.
Whether or not Pope is the logical answer will not be known for a while, but Gore has produced well in Indianapolis. While Michael has become somewhat of an NFL journeyman, the Colts’ offense would have been a solid landing spot.
Michael’s career has never produced enough to back up the hype surrounding his play, which is a sad story in itself.
In a place that neither of them wants to be in.
Michael, depending on the type of injury, will have to wait even longer to play another snap. And the Colts’ backfield is now even weaker behind Gore. Both situations being less than ideal for either party, but time is on their side.
If Michael’s injury took place any closer to the season, the Colts might have scrounged for running back depth. This early in the summer and the team has time to find a replacement other than Pope, if they so choose.
The Colts are now without running back depth and still have not seen quarterback Andrew Luck take a snap following surgery.
