Eagles Add Deep Threat Torrey Smith

Torrey Smith Flies Back East

Will speedy deep threat Torrey Smith become the target that sophomore quarterback Carson Wentz desperately needed last season?

The question now becomes is there any jet fuel left in his tank as he is back on the East Coast after a stint with  the San Francisco 49ers.

Wear and tear has to be a concern for Smith who sat down during his last days out west due to concussion issues.

Smith told Philadelphia’s website that he is excited about his new opportunity.

“I like where they’re going, the stability, the coaching staff, the quarterback, a young guy who is going to play in this league for a long time,” Smith said just moments after walking inside the NovaCare Complex. “They have potential to make a run. I’m still young at 28, but it’s all about winning at this point. I’m an East Coast guy, it’s pretty cool to be here. My wife (Chanel) is from 30 minutes from here. I’m familiar with the area. I’m just so excited about the future that they have going on here.”

The Eagles may not be done. They released a key defensive piece in Connor Barwin to create cap space and the word is that when the clock strikes four, possession receiver Alshon Jefferies may continue the team’s offensive upgrade.
