Watch: Bryce Harper Suffers Knee Injury

Nationals playoff success may have taken a hit

Earlier this season, the San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals took part in an old-fashioned ballpark brawl. During that game, Bryce Harper charged the mound and exchanged punches with pitcher Hunter Strickland.

On Saturday evening, the same two teams were facing one another and Harper was yet again involved in what will likely take over the sports world for a few days.

Harper was attempting to leg out a single, but slipped on top of the first base bag because of rain that had fallen earlier, and continued to fall. His leg turned and torques in an unnatural way, and the Nationals’ outfielder was in a crumpled heap, writhing in pain.

The injury will affect Washington’s playoff hopes, but that isn’t a concern at this point.
